Dealerware is used by car dealerships across North America to manage connected fleets being used for rental and service loaners. Dealerware is an affiliate of Audi of America and the Volkswagen Group and is used by: 20 OEMs, 100 dealer groups, 2500 dealerships, 13,000 users, 30,000 vehicles, and tens of millions of end customers.

During my time at Dealerware  that involve: automating fleet inventory, employee, and business rules; employee facilitated contracting; consumer facing contract; partnership technology integrations; and business performance and reporting solutions.

The work I completed while at Dealerware touched the entirety of our product portfolio and over time I developed a strong understanding of our customer's businesses and an atunement to the goals of the people using our software. Dealerware's product ecosystem coordinates multiple levels of employees and business management to provide a cohesive and operating experience to many different shapes and sizes of business—and I helped to define our product experiences that were central to our positioning in the market as the best designed tool for the job.

With the support of my design director, manager, and product partners, I was afforded time and space to solving customer problems in strategic ways that helped us meet our business objectives while striking a balance between creating desireable experiences in efficent ways that solve problems.

  invest in maturing our design process and , I’ve found various approaches that helped focus on opportunities to create value typically including: how to blend formal and informal research methods to create real professional relationships that can be leveraged across projects, how to ask open-ended clarifying questions with stakeholders and product managers to help make sure our efforts meet our desired business outcomes, and how to use conceptual design models, mockups, and prototypes to tell real customer stories and help everyone involved in a project imagine how we can get to where we want to go.

During my time at Dealerware I’ve used Loom extensively to communicate ideas throughout out organization. Below are a few of my favorites from over the years that touch on the various problems Ive worked on.

At the start of 2018, and at the outset of this new business initiative, Volvo had no digital experience in place to support this strategy and had thus made $0 from direct customer sales. Now, their Care by Volvo subscription generates more than $2 million in monthly revenue, is operational in 6 countries world wide, and is considered the most sustainable venture amongst vehicle subscription offerings.

The following projects are samples of the work that I contributed to during my 10 month contract with Volvo, since this work includes concepts and processes that are confidential, no images writing below should be shared.
